If the item I need isn't in your Online Catalog, could it still be available? YES! There are nearly 5,000 items available here on our site, but the number of available products is nearly infinite! We would love to hear from you by email or phone with a description of the product you need. Chances are we can help! We can even make a custom designed phone to your specifications!
Do you have a printed catalog? No, the same virtually unlimited selection of telephones, clocks, radios and lamps makes it nearly impossible to keep a printed catalog current. If you or your company needs printed information about specific products, please call and we will be glad to oblige.
When will my order be shipped? Depending on the shipping method you choose, your order will almost always be on its way to you within one or two business days. If you specify next day or two-day shipping when you order, every effort is made to ship the merchandise within 48 business hours. If we see that there will be a delay of more than 14 days, or in the rare case a product is out of stock, we will email or call you promptly.
Please note: your order may be shipped from one of many warehouses in various locations, so transit time may vary. Also note that parcel carriers generally do not deliver on weekends or holidays. If you need your items by a certain date, please note that information in the "comments" section of your order, and if necessary, we will give you the option to upgrade your shipping method to assure on-time arrival (or just give us a call to order.)
We do ask that you take time to review the descriptions of the products you're ordering. Certain collectible phones are not always available for immediate shipment - this is indicated clearly in the product description. If you place an online order for a collectible product and it's not available, we will send you the next one that becomes available.
How can you guarantee customer satisfaction? Fun Home Products/Custom Phones proudly displays the WebAssured seal. This means that if you are dissatisfied with our services and we are unable to resolve a dispute through WebAssured's dispute resolution process, WebAssured will REFUND YOUR MONEY! This service is underwritten by Lloyds, London, and is subject to certain restrictions. If I purchase a new, high-tech phone with advanced features, will all those features automatically work in my home? Some of the features common on the new telephones such as Caller ID, Call Waiting Caller ID, VoiceMail Message Waiting Light, etc., will only work on your new telephone if you have subscribed to your local Phone Company's services. Some of these special feature subscription services may not be available in all areas - please call your local Phone Company to check availability of these advanced services before ordering.
If I purchase an antique or vintage phone will it work in my home? YES! ALL OF THE ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE PHONES WE SELL ARE READY TO PLUG INTO A MODERN MODULAR PHONE JACK AND USE TO MAKE AND RECEIVE CALLS. There are several things you should know if you're considering the purchase of an antique or vintage phone:
- Rotary Dial: a rotary dial phone will work on your touchtone home phone service to dial a number and place a call. However, you won't be able to dial touchtone numbers in response to voicemail menus, bank-by-phone, etc. (Also see "Phone Service" FAQ.)
- Sound Quality: Most of the antique and vintage phones in this catalog have sound quality as good as, or superior to, your modern phones. However, the transmit quality on the very old wooden wall and candlestick phones may sound peculiar to the party you're talking with. The cone-shaped mouthpieces on some of these phones will make your voice sound hollow!
- Wall Mounting: Most of the wall-mounted antique and vintage phones take a little bit of skill to hang. Unlike modern wall phones which are equipped with snap-on wall brackets, you may need to actually open up the phone housing and use screws or anchors to mount your phone on the wall. Call if you need help!
- Ringing: Many of the antique and vintage phones have loud bell ringers and NO ringer "on/off" switch. The candlestick and 1920's phones generally did not have internal ringers, but we can add a modern internal ringer or a bell box.
- Cosmetics: While the condition of the antique and vintage phones in our catalog is always very good, it is not unusual to expect a small scratch or two, or some very minor cosmetic defects, given the age of the telephone. We try to avoid reducing the antique value of some phones by refraining from repainting, etc., unless absolutely necessary.
- Phone Service: POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) is still the best bet in our opinion. If the telephone service to your home or business is provided by your local Phone Company, your genuine vintage or antique phone will work great! If your phone service is provided by a "broadband" or internet type service like Vonage or your Cable Company, it is likely that a rotary dial will not work, and possible that the phone may not operate quite right in other ways. If you have questions about your service, you might wish to call the provider to make sure they support rotary (pulse) dialing.
Is my order secure? Orders are accepted securely using industry-standard SSL encryption.
Can I call and order over the telephone rather than online? Certainly! During our store hours (10 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday, 10-1 Saturday, Eastern Time) a real-live knowledgeable representative will answer your call. If you leave a message or email us with your telephone number after hours, a representative will return your call, usually within 12 hours. Emails are answered fast too!
What is your Privacy Policy? We know you're concerned about protecting your privacy online. So are we. At Fun Home Products, we treat your personal information (especially your credit card number) with the highest standards of safety, security and confidentiality. We believe your personal information should remain just that - personal. Fun Home Products, doesn't sell, rent or give the names of our online customers or any other information to third parties. We do collect information for Custom Phones' internal use. This data helps us manage and improve our site. We automatically recognize your Internet Service Provider (ISP). We sometimes use this information to diagnose problems with our server and to better administer our site. We collect information about how you use our site. We track your shopping cart using URL encoding. This helps us determine which departments are most and least popular. That way, we can improve your overall shopping experience. When you place an order, we need your credit card number, e-mail address, shipping address, billing address and telephone number. We'll e-mail you order and shipping confirmation. In some cases, we do contact customers by phone if there's a question about your order. Custom Phones Mailing List - If you've signed up for our mailing list, we may also inform our mailing list subscribers about discounts and sales. If for any reason, you don't want to receive our emails, you can unsubscribe. Just go to "Contact Us" and enter your e-mail address and the word "Remove."
Is there a Warranty on your telephones? Each product in our catalog carries a manufacturer's or refurbisher's limited warranty. Manufacturers' warranty periods vary from 90 days to one year, and are limited to defects in workmanship and materials. Warranties don't cover damage from shipping, misuse, abuse, lightning and so forth. Fun Home Products will gladly exchange or repair (at our option) any product within the first 30 days (see return policy for details) and can if necessary can assist you in contacting the manufacturer for further warranty issues.
Can I get a refund? We would certainly prefer to answer all of your questions to make certain you get the product you want, before you make the purchase! However, if you are dissatisfied with your purchase and wish to return the merchandise, provided that it is returned within 30 days, in its original packaging, with your sales receipt / proof of purchase, we will cheerfully refund the cost of the returned merchandise. Note: Due to the special order nature of our custom-made telephone art, we are not able to offer refunds on custom-made telephones.
